I see a pattern. And it’s a pattern that should bring about deep concern. The horrible ordeal of the kindergartner being kidnapped by a gunman who also shot the bus driver is certainly heart wrenching. And it does indeed seem that this particular person had some type of mental disorder. What I find weird is that his motive for stepping onto a school bus with an apparent intent to shoot it up has never been clearly suggested, much less concretely revealed. I don’t know about you, but a flipped mentally unstable kind of declaration seems like an easy out for ignoring far too many unanswered questions. What is being brought out by mainstream media is that the guy was apparently a, “survivalist with anti-government views.”
Likewise, Adam Lanza’s motive for shooting up Sandy Hook Elementary has never been clearly revealed either. He is just portrayed as being mentally unstable. Once again, mainstream media took advantage of the fact that his Mother was apparently a survivalist, or “prepper” who essentially knew what the rest of us know is coming and took steps to prepare for it, including making sure that she had a way that she and her family could defend themselves if necessary.
The tragedy at Sandy Hook spawned discussion about what government can do to improve access to mental health services and how government can improve such programs through tax payer money. This of course is going to bring about additional government expansion and is already leading to loss of privacy through some of the unconstitutional Executive Orders that Obama is attempting to have enforced.
Meanwhile, NBC news reports on debates over drone strikes on Americans, and attempts among our elite dear leaders to address what circumstances would warrant a drone attack on American citizens: the notion of a “suspect being an imminent threat” is stated, but just exactly what that looks like is alarmingly vague. Such an attack is something that would allegedly be carried out during “law of war principles” in connection to a suspect being an “undue risk.” But perhaps the most disturbing of all is that, “On Monday [Feb 4], a bipartisan group of 11 senators — led by Democrat Ron Wyden of Oregon — wrote a letter to President Barack Obama asking him to release all Justice Department memos on the subject. While accepting that ‘there will clearly be circumstances in which the president has the authority to use lethal force’ against Americans who take up arms against the country, it said, ‘It is vitally important … for Congress and the American public to have a full understanding of how the executive branch interprets the limits and boundaries of this authority.’”
What I find especially ironic in all of this is that when Middle East leaders began to “lose control” of their people during the Arab Spring and use “lethal force” against them, Obama demanded that those leaders step down – and happily assisted those doing the overthrowing with American troops.
